WILLIAM IRVING commenced trading at South Henry Street, Carlisle in old stables owned by J. Scott, Painter and Decorator (next door).

1941

IAN IRVING (14yrs) joined father as apprentice compositor until joining the army in 1944. Returned in February 1948.

February 1949

WILLIAM IRVING killed in motor cycle accident. IAN IRVING then proprietor. Building sold by J. Scott.

April 1953

Moved to old British Restaurant kitchens in Christ Church School building, Lancaster Street.

April 1965

Premises taken over by Binnings Removals. Moved to 14-16 South Street, Carlisle.

April 1983

Buildings vacated prior to demolition. Moved to 137 Botchergate, Carlisle.
(Previously occupied by wine merchants).

April 1992

Business sold to ANDREW CUNNINGHAM, former compositor with Cumberland News.

April 1997

Business moved to Water Street, Carlisle.

August 2000

Andrew Cunningham wishes to sell business and take 'semi-retirement'. 
Business eventually sold to SCOTT LARNER, local printer who expressed an interest.

December 2000

Business moved to Denton Holme Trade Centre, Carlisle next door to existing premises of Print Out and continues to trade as a Printers & Stationers alongside Penrith Office Supplies as part of the
Print Out Group.
